This project has been
the pinnacle of Malin Construction’s history.
The complete renovation of this historical Bus Barn,
originally constructed in 1893, required a plethora
of specialized treatments, structural considerations,
and exclusive construction techniques affording our
company a unique experience. The project required lead
abatement, removal and replacement of the exterior
corrugated metal wall and roof panels, all existing
windows were restored to their original splendor, the
existing brick at the exterior walls and at the interior
passageways were abated and returned to their previous
state. The front promenade on Magazine Street was transformed
into an enjoyable outdoor seating area combined with
masonry planters and vegetation. The renovation of
the 62,500 square foot structure began in December
of 2001 and was completed in December of 2002 when
the Whole Foods Market opened.
